Job Title: Sustainability Intern
Location: University of Pennsylvania, Facilities and Real Estate Services
Stipend: Hourly wage to be determined based on experience
Dates: Late May – Late August
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Summary of Position
Green Campus Partnership (GCP) is the umbrella organization that was formed in 2007 to address environmental sustainability planning and policy development at the University of Pennsylvania and to coordinate programs and initiatives for a more sustainable campus. GCP includes Facilities and Real Estate Services, Business Services, the Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee, as well as faculty and student groups.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Review university-wide environmental course offerings and update sustainability course inventory
· Review peer university sustainability awards/recognition programs & develop similar a program for Penn FY13
· Develop sustainability-focused faculty engagement strategies
· Provide assistance with application to AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking and Rating System (STARS)
Qualifications
· Good research and communication skills
· Good collaborative skills
· Ability to work both independently and in a goal-oriented team atmosphere
· Experience in event planning and coordination
